Head to Local Trust’s prized Nunnington Hall in Nunnington, North Yorkshire to catch a glimpse of how a doctor to some of the most famous names in royalty spent his days. When not attending to King Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, or Edward VI, this doctor loved to retire to this charming estate.
Yet don’t let the word charming fool you into thinking it is anything less than luxurious itself. This beautiful house is nestled among some of the most breathtaking gardens to be found in the region. Surely whether you are looking for a lovely outdoor expanse, or simply curious to see how this famous doctor spent his days, The National Trust’s Nunnington Hall is a great stop for you!
Nunnington Hall is right along the River Nye, and you will no doubt want to go listen to its soothing babbles. Further, the walled garden outside is both organic and a tribute to 17th century style. The National Trust has gone to great pains to keep this estate is superb upkeep and you can expect nothing less that authentic. The blooming bulbs come in a wide array of colours, truly a feast for the eyes.
The National Trust’s Nunnington Hall is currently open until the 12th of December in this year during the weekends from 11am until 4pm. You can then gain privy into the intimate home setting and behold the décor.
You can take a tour of all of the paintings and other key artefacts comprising the hallways and rooms, as well as step inside the room holding miniatures! There are smaller than life sofas, desks, and chairs, sure to be a hit with the kids!
The National Trust takes care that Nunnington Hall will surely live up to any expectations for a lovely travel stop!
