Belton House Orangery

National Trust destination of note, the Belton House in Grantham, Lincolnshire, had distinguished itself of marked beauty and acclaim long before it was included in BBC’s Pride and Prejudice, but this more recent nod is only further proof of its true glory.

The home is still established in true English style of the 17th century and any of today’s modern visitors will certainly be captivated by the historic lore; you can rest assured that even the little ones will leave feeling a little more inspired of the past.

The builder of this fine Belton House, now looked over by the National Trust, was one Sir John Brownlow and he was no stranger to lavish material possessions; for this you will be in awe of the grandeur table centrepieces, the shimmering silver, the intricate artistic paintings, and much more.

Still National Trust site Belton House offers you more than a tour of the inner workings of the home; outside you will delight in the nearby lake which makes an ideal place for a photo opportunity. In fact the children will be thrilled in that there is a surrounding deer park and if they are quite enough they too may be blessed with a woodland friend.

Nautical enthusiasts will be drawn to the boat house and anyone looking to get a little exercise need only to head over to the extensive playground which is in fact the very biggest in all of Lincolnshire. So be certain that you don’t pass up this beautiful Belton House the next chance for a holiday you get!

  • Thoroughly recommend this as the fabbest day out, there is so much for the children, one of the best homes that caters for the whole family. They have a great dressing up room too, the adventure park is a day out in itself.
The Orangery is lovely oh and a train ride too.
